This truck is one of three Victoria Fire Department had of the 1931-32 LaFrances.
The body was suitable for several uses, notably as a wrecker, or carrying heavy cargo. Many trucks of this popular model were purchased for use as fire apparatus, especially during the war when few trucks were being produced for civilian use.
The truck was donated back to Victoria Fire Department from the City of Richmond Fire Department where it was painted white. A two year total frame-up restoration was required. The truck was completed in 2020. The engine is 880 cu.in. LaFrance motor with a 840 GPM rotary pump. The truck is also chain drive. The truck runs well considering it’s age.
