The truck is a 1962 LaFrance which was stationed with Victoria Fire Dept. from 1962 to 1986. When the the truck was retired it was converted to a Deluge - Hose Tender.
The Historical Society in 2016 wanted to convert the truck back to the day it arrived in Victoria from the LaFrance
factory in Toronto. This was a major undertaking. There was a lot rusted metal in the compartments, electrical issues, and needed new brakes and tires.
Our biggest expense was the painting back to red.
The crews from BMT Group in Sidney B.C. to a excellent job with the body work and paint. The truck is used now as a parade vehicle.
